Class Format:

Shines / Warm Up

Our classes start off with light energetic warmups. Our warm ups inlvolve starting the class with easy-to-follow footwork patterns called 'shines'. These footwork patterns are incorporated to start off the class, and they also form the basis for what will be taught for the rest of the class.

Partner Dancing

This involves learning about the sexy,sensual and sophistaced style that brings together two people who share similar passion for salsa dancing. Patrner dancing offers students the opportunity to learn how to express themselves through interaction, passion, purpose and communication without words but with syncronicity. Our experienced instructors will break down each pattern into their component parts so that it is easily understood and easily followed. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and good fun. Your ability to laugh is not a pre-requisite, but it is expected. Two left feet is okay too, our instructors would soon make a maestro out of you yet.

Skill Level

It is advised that students do not jump levels unless our instructors feel(through demonstration) that the student can keep up with the pace of the more advanced classes.

Beginner 1,2,3 - BEGINNER SERIES

This series introduces students to the fundamentals of salsa dancing, salsa dos and donts, basic styling for both Men and women, posture, leading/following the correct way and much more. As students become more comfortable with the fundamentals and basic partner combination, we then introduce students to more challenging turn patterns and combiations as they progress through the series.

Intermediate 1,2,3 - INTERMEDIATE SERIES

Students at the intermediate series should already have a good understanding of all the basic elements of the beginner series, both in shines and combinations . More challenging turn patterns are introduced in the intermediate series. Students learn about multiple turns, more polished and precise lead/follow techniques, styling and much more. At this level students have demonstrated competency in Beginner series, and have chucked up several hours on the salsa floor. Students learn very intricate salsa moves,perfect  timing, plus all the apects of being a good and graceful salsa dancer.

ADVANCED classes are offered only as private classes at the moment.
